🚨 PLEASE NOTE: This blog post contains spoilers for the “Commonplace” Subscription Box. Proceed with caution! 🚨
Get stuck into the art of commonplacing with the contents of this quarter’s box!
Information Booklet
The first thing in your box you should take a look at is the information booklet. We created this to give you a lowdown on the basics of commonplacing, as well as an overview of the contents of your box. There are some super-handy hints and tips included, so we definitely recommend reading it before you get started!

Commonplace Notebook
We’ve included a dotted notebook, with space for a key and index, for you to get started with commonplacing without having to use your existing journal if you don’t want to. You could also use it as a practice book, to get an idea of how you want to use commonplacing, before diving in with a brand new journal.

Font Stencil
We’ve included a font stencil (BO111) to help you write some bold headings in your commonplace book. This particular font is only available in upper case, but it has a very funky ‘O’! As always, the holes for the letters and numbers are included at the bottom.

Pocket Stencils
We’ve included two pocket stencils in this box. The first is a set of punctuation marks (BO112), which pair with the font stencil (or any font stencil!) to help you create headers and quote pages, and the second is a set of icons (BO113) to help you categorise your commonplace entries. For more information on how to use the icons, check out your information booklet!

Dot Stickers
A big part of commonplacing is colour-coding your entries so you can find them again later on. To help you with this, we’ve included five sheets of colourful dot stickers to stick in the margins next to your entries.

Page Number Stickers
The notebook included already has page numbers, but if you want to start commonplacing in your own journal, we’ve included a sheet of page number stickers to make the task easier!

Margin Ruler
This skinny ruler is the perfect width for drawing margins in your journal, which is a key component of commonplacing. It also has 5mm measurements on the back, so can be used as a normal journaling in a dot-grid notebook too.

Pentel Energel Clena Pen
With super smooth writing and fast drying ink, we are big fans of the Pentel Energel range here at Oops a Daisy and we are super excited to include one in this box! Great for adding quick entries into your commonplace book.

Snopake Glue Stick
You may want to incorporate adding receipts, notes, tickets or photographs into your commonplace journal, so we’ve included a handy glue stick to help you with this. It’s also the perfect size for stashing in your pouch for a bit of on-the-go commonplacing!

Washi Tape
Because everything is better with a little colour, we’ve included a funky geometric washi tape to decorate your commonplace pages. Plus, as it uses our quarterly colour palette, it also matches the next three themeboxes too!

Corduroy Pouch
Commonplacing is most useful when you can jot down your entries as soon as you discover them, so what better to keep your notebook, pens, and other accessories handy than this gorgeous navy blue corduroy pouch? It’s the perfect size to keep all your commonplacing items together and protected wherever you are.

More Information
Commonplacing is a big topic, and we’ve included a brief overview in the booklet, but Jo has written a series of detailed blog posts packed with information and guides on how to get started with creating a commonplace book. All of the posts are compiled on the page linked below.
Q4 Planning
As always, in your box you’ll also receive your quarterly planning bundle, which includes Theme Planner and Quarterly Goals Super Easy Sticker Sheets.
Use the theme planners to swatch your pens and log the supplies you want to use for your next journal themes. The Quarterly Goals sheet can be used to set yourself some goals for the upcoming quarter, and includes space for you to plan the steps you need to take to achieve them!
