Did you start journaling or planning to get productive and creative, and now have so many supplies that it’s preventing you from enjoying the process? Let us guide you through our Stencil Organisation System!
Nothing blocks creativity more than dis-organisation!
If you think it might time for a little spring clean of your collection, then you’ll love the series of blogs and tutorials we have planned.

The Oops a Daisy Stencil Organisation System
Today we will begin organising your stencil collection, using step one our Stencil Organisation System.
The system has 4 steps: Categorise, Identify, Index, and Store.
As we move through the steps, we will discuss the tools we have created to help wrangle your stencils, along with some top tips for how to keep your collection organised once you’ ha’ve done all of the hard work!
Step 1: Categorise
First step – let’s get those stencils categorised. Once this step is done, it will make the remaining steps so much easier!
What you’ll need: For this step, no supplies are needed other than a big pile of stencils ready to be organised. So have a hunt through wherever you keep your supplies, and gather all of your Oops a Daisy stencils into one place. Grab a cuppa, let’s get organising!
Don’t get too involved with identification at this point, we will do this in the next step.
All of your Oops a Daisy stencils should fall into 1 of 5 categories:
Classic Stencil
Quick identification – It has a tab at the top!
The classic stencil contains multiple elements that use can use in different ways to create your spread.
Note – Classic stencils now come hole-punched as standard. Older purchases may have been unpunched.

Super Easy Stencil
Quick identification – It looks like a complete journal spread.
The Super Easy stencil is designed to be laid on the page and traced in full for a complete journal spread. Each design is available in A5 or B5 sizing depending on your journal preference.

A5 Font Stencil
Quick identification – Same size as an A5 Super Easy stencil, but includes a full upper or lower case alphabet
Fun fact, the letters included in our A5 Font stencils are all around 2cm (or 4 grid spaces) in height!

Pocket Stencil
Quick identification – Its smaller than all of the other designs!
Once it comes to the next step, we will further divide this pile into font based designs and decorative/functional designs.

Miscellaneous Stencils
Quick identification – They don’t fall into any of the other 4 categories!
These include bookmarks and shaped stencils, basically all of those designs that don’t fit neatly into a box!

In our next organising session we will take each of these piles and identify the individual designs.
STEP 1 RECAP: At the end of step 1 you should now a maximum of 5 piles of stencils and are ready for the next step: Identification!
